Know How To Create A Mailing List From Scratch

Filed Under List Building | Leave a Comment

If you are new to internet marketing, you’ll find that one of the first things that you need to think about is creating a mailing list. You will also hear how vitally important it is to your online business that you create a list with targeted subscribers. Your mailing list should target the people who have expressed interest in your services or products and who want to hear more in the future; because of this, you can easily see how powerful this list can be, and how important it is that you add people to it, so make sure that you figure out how!

Listed below, are several possible ways in which you can create your targeted list.

1.  Viral Marketing

You’ll find one way in which you can greatly expand your list is to make sure that everyone who wants to get on it will be able to tell their friends as well.  There are several pieces of software out there that will help you do this.  When someone goes to sign up for your list, you’ll find that the software will give them an option to type in emails of people who might be interested.  If they can type in a certain number, you might reward them, giving them an incentive to do so.  This is a great way to spread the news and quickly! Some say the tell-a-friend scripts are controversial because it may be construed as spamming in the fact that the friends haven’t chosen to see your product or products, rather they have been sent an email telling them to check out your product, albeit from their friend. It is up to you if you decide to go down this route, but it does build your list fast.

2.  Autoresponder

If you are going to be going into internet marketing, you’ll find that you cannot afford to be without an autoresponder service for your list-building.  One of the things that people expect in this day and age, when it comes to the Internet, is instantaneous response, and you’ll find that an autoresponder can give them one.  An autoresponder service will add them immediately to your list when they subscribe and that they can also unsubscribe as and when it suits them. This is convenient for them and much less work for you. Again, there are several autoresponder services from which you may choose from. I would suggest that you find a reputable autoresponder service that offers a double opt-in, this way, if you are accused of spamming, with double opt-in you can prove that the person chose to receive information from you.

3.  Increase your traffic

The more people you have coming to your site, the better it will be when it comes to getting people interested in what you have to offer.  You’ll find that there are scores of reasons why you need adapt the content of your site when it comes to traffic. It is also essential to ensure you are putting out good content for the search engines to find.  This is one of the most important things to consider when you want to have people sign up to your list. Make sure that they have a reason to find it by putting in keywords relevant to your niche.

4.  Content!

When you want people to stay on your subscribers list ensure that you give them good content.  Think about what you can do when it comes to giving them deals, insider information or tips, and you’ll find that they always come back for more.  Don’t neglect the important part of list maintenance when you have your contacts!

As you can see, putting together a list is relatively straightforward.  Remember that you should always put a lot of effort into your site and into drawing people to your list, but that you should also understand that once they are on the list that you should work to keep them there.

3 Steps To Membership Site Success

Posted on July 4, 2008
Filed Under Membership Site Madness | Leave a Comment

There are just three steps you need to take to ensure your membership site succeeds. If you follow these three steps your membership site will get new members who’ll pay you recurring income time and time again.

One constant theme that emerges from the most successful businesses and organizations is simplicity. Keep things simple and you will succeed. Try to do too much, or complicate things and you’ll more than likely fail. So, the three step process for membership site success is simple, making it much more likely that you will succeed.

STEP ONE
Focus. Decide precisely what your membership site will be about. For instance, say your interest is in cars. If you produce a membership site about cars, you’ll be competing against millions of others and you’ll not get noticed. Narrow down your focus to something specific - perhaps something like “Italian cars”. The more specific your theme, the better. Don’t try to do too much - a single narrow theme is what you need for success. If you want to cover a broad subject, break it down into several narrow themes for separate membership sites.

STEP TWO
Content. Fill your membership site with content. The information you provide needs to be focused directly on your theme. You may need to write the main pages yourself, but there will be articles you can use from ezine directories and from private label sites that will help you fill out your web site. The more content you add, the better. Plus, be sure to add articles and information to your site every week. That will get people coming back to your site and it will also make sure the search engines notice you.

STEP THREE
Links. Get links from other membership sites, but don’t try to get links from just anyone. Instead, get links from relevant sites. In our example this would be other car membership sites, or membership sites on aspects of Italian history. A link from a friend’s site on another subject is of no value. So, search the web for membership sites that are relevant to your interest and then ask the webmasters to link to your site as your affiliate and they earn recurring commissions. In return, you can also be their affiliate.

With these three steps you are assured of online success. That’s because these are the key steps taken by all of the most successful membership sites you encounter.

But ONE IMPORTANT THING you need in running your membership site is the simplicity and ease of use. And I recommend you check this out:

How To Succeed With Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a wonderful way to create an online income and many web entrepreneurs have made a fortune on the back of it, however, it isn’t an automatic key to internet profits. You have to get a number of things right to succeed with internet marketing. These things aren’t hard to do, but they are necessary and you have to be prepared to take the time to learn and apply them.

There are three main aspects to affiliate marketing success: choosing the right programs, implementing successful internet marketing strategies and consistency.

How to Choose the Right Affiliate Marketing Programs

The affiliate marketing programs you choose need to be related to your niche and complimentary to one another. This way, your internet marketing can accommodate all your affiliate products and not have to be unique to each one. Furthermore, your targeted website traffic will already be generally interested in the various offerings on your website or blog.

Other things you should look for in an affiliate marketing program are: quality products with money back guarantees, excellent customer service, high commission rates with low payout thresholds, well written sales pages to maximize conversion, and customer tracking for at least ninety days (preferably longer).

Successful Internet Marketing Strategies

Without website traffic, you will be unable to make any sales - no matter how great your affiliate products are. It is therefore crucial to learn and apply proven internet marketing strategies to build traffic and encourage those visitors to click on your affiliate links. Internet marketing begins with website design, content and search engine optimization strategies (SEO). Your website needs to be easy to navigate, focused on one particular niche (although it can include sub-categories), contain unique, relevant and useful content which is updated regularly and optimized for search engines by using (but not overusing) keywords related to your page content. Once you have created your website you can implement traffic building strategies such as article marketing, paid search engine listings, press releases (where appropriate), write blogs related to your subject and link back to your website (also have direct affiliate links on your blog), and engage in social networking sites such as Facebook. These are basic starting points for generating website traffic that is targeted and likely to be interested in one or more of the affiliate products you are promoting. There are plenty of online resources that can teach you how to apply these various strategies to promote your site and increase your affiliate marketing referrals.

Consistency

If you truly want to become successful at affiliate marketing then you need to work at it consistently. For example, your website and blog needs to be updated regularly with new and original content that is relevant to your niche. This is essential to encourage visitors to return but it is also important to gain free search engine traffic. Article marketing is also a very effective traffic building strategy but it will only work if it is done on a regular basis. As soon as you stop working on your online business, your traffic will die off and your business will fail.

If you are willing to apply these strategies to your affiliate marketing business, you will give yourself every chance of success. You may even join the ranks of the affiliate marketing millionaires.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make 5 EASY bucks a day?

Doesn’t sound a lot, eh? But if you can imagine 5 bucks every day. That will soon mount up to $1,825 a year.

This still doesn’t sound a lot. But if you multiply it by ten, it starts getting more interesting. Then, multiply that by ten….

Just supposing you could make this sort of money even if you didn’t know what you were doing. You will be getting paid for your mistakes and it doesn’t matter how many mistakes you make. If you do know what you are doing, it can only get better.

As the video says, this is truly an unorthodox (and legal) way of making money. Take a look here: 5 BUCKS A DAY.

To find out more about this topic, take a trip over to this link: 5 BUCKS A DAY.

This program surely is potent. You would be crazy if you didn’t have a look at it.

How To Be A Successful Affiliate Marketer

So, you have heard about affiliate marketing. You have heard how millions of dollars can be made with affiliate marketing. You have heard how easy it is to make unlimited cash through affiliate marketing. Now, you want to jump on the bandwagon and earn some of those huge profits for yourself. It is easy, right? After all, you don’t need to create your own product, you just promote somebody else’s product and sit and wait for the affiliate checks to come in. Nothing could be easier.

This concept has enticed many thousands of people towards affiliate marketing with many thousands of people being bitterly disappointed. Most people earn almost nothing with affiliate marketing, and that is simply because they do nothing once they have placed their merchants’ ad on their website.

To be a successful affiliate marketer you need to work at it. Affiliate checks won’t just come in if you sit and do nothing. You MUST do something. You have to think of ways to promote your merchant’s products better. You have to think of ways to induce people to click on the link or ad provided by your merchant and, you have to think of ways to increase your affiliate sales.

If you are new to affiliate marketing and do try to follow the laid back approach of just sitting and waiting for the affiliate checks to roll in, then, I’m afraid, you are on the wrong track. It just isn’t going to happen. Sure, you may get one or two sales, but this will hardly cover your hosting account.

How are you going to achieve better commissions from your affiliate sales? Here are some guidelines that may help you to continually grow your affiliate checks.

Become an expert on your affiliate product

It goes without saying that if you know a lot about your affiliates’ product then you will be able to promote it better. The best thing you could do, on this score, is to purchase the product for yourself. You will be able to tell your customers, first-hand, the benefits of the product, what it has done for you, your experience at using the product. You may even write reviews and testimonials, or, personally endorse it. The least you can do, is thoroughly research the product and promote it that way.

Host Your Own Website

Try to get your own domain name which is short and easy to remember. You wouldn’t expect a visitor to remember a long and incomprehensible URL. With the millions upon millions of domain names registered today and being registered every day, it is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve this, but with a little creativity and determination, it can be done.

You may also want to think about creating your own private website and offer access to anybody who clicks on your affiliate links. Visitors usually get interested with these private websites. Also, it gives you a chance to promote your back-end affiliate products.

Write Your Own Affiliate Ads

Many merchants wouldn’t usually mind you writing and designing your own ads, although you may have to get permission from them before presenting the ads on your own websites. It is only polite to do so. Writing and designing your own ads will give you a greater advantage over the other affiliates who are promoting the same products.

Participate In Chat Rooms, Discussion Boards And Forums Related To The Product

Chat rooms or forums may have been something that you ignored at one time. If so, it is high time you started to focus your attention to them. There are many forums in all sorts of areas. Try to find one that is related to your affiliate product and join in the discussions. You do not have to promote your affiliate product at once, and certainly read the Terms and Conditions of the forum or chat site with regards to promoting affiliate products beforehand. Some forums have specific areas on the board for affiliate promotions. If you have thoroughly researched the area of your affiliate product, you will be able to offer sound advice or expertise. You will find the chance to promote and advertise your affiliate product as you go along.

You may be able to add your affiliate links in your signature line, but again, be sure to read the Terms and Conditions of the specific forum.

Create Your Own Ezine or Newsletter

When you create your own newsletter or ezine, you will be able to promote it on your website. Offer an incentive for people who sign up to your newsletter. Your newsletter will be a periodical that will provide valuable information in the areas of your affiliate products. A word of warning though, make sure you do not over-promote your affiliate products in the newsletter itself. This may greatly annoy your readers and they may unsubscribe. It would be much better to find a way to promote your ads and links in another portion of the newsletter. Again, try to promote your newsletter as much as you can, maybe in the chat rooms or forums.

These are only a few guidelines to continually increase your affiliate checks, sales and commissions and I’m sure there are many more that you can think of and if they work then I won’t discourage you from attempting them. The three most important things that you will have to do, is to find out:

1. How to attract more attention and traffic to your site.
2. How to induce your visitors to click on the links and ads on your site.
3. How to be able to promote your merchants products, even outside of your website.

If you can do these three things, then there is no reason why you should fail in your affiliate marketing attempts.

I Want 30,000 Visitors And I Know How To Get Them, Do You?

Posted on June 24, 2008
Filed Under Get Traffic | Leave a Comment

Pick a number. Any number. We’re talking the number of people you want to get to your site each month. I’ll pick 30,000. Why did I pick this number? Well, I have ten websites, and I get an average of $26 per 1,000 visitors per site. Knowing that, as long as I get 1,000 visitors to each of my sites each day, I’ll make $260 a day. That’s $1,820 a week. 1,000 visitors a day averages out to about 30,000 visitors a month. This all sounds great, but I bet you want to know how you can do the same thing.

There are three different ways I use to get 1,000 people a day to each of my sites, and I’ll explain each of them to you. It’s very easy and only requires simple math and you deciding where you to want to put the most focus.

Let’s start with the first way.

First you’ll need to find a keyword that gets 1,000 searches a day. Next you’ll create a web page that is optimized for that one keyword. After that page has been completed, you’ll need to get as many links as you can to that page. This will help your page rank, and get you ranked higher in the search engines for your keyword.

The only problem with this strategy is it’s very hard to get top rankings for only one keyword. Also, with a keyword that gets 1,000 searches a day, you’re probably going to have a lot of competition. So before you try this strategy, make sure to research how hard it will be to out rank your competition.

I only use this strategy when I find I don’t have much competition for the keyword. This strategy can take a lot of work, but can really pay off in the long run. Meaning you could make a lot more money with just this one keyword through Adsense or other affiliate revenue.

The second strategy I use is similar to the first strategy except you will find 10 keywords that get 100 searches a day. That’s still 1,000 searches a day, so you’ll still be able to reach your 30,000 visitors a month goal. Once you find your 10 keywords that get 100 searches a day, you’ll create an optimized web page for each keyword. Once you have all your web pages built, you’ll need to get as many links to each page as you can.

This is an attractive strategy because keywords with 100 searches a day usually have much less competition that keywords that get 1000 searches a day. The only draw back of this strategy is that you have to work harder and more at getting links. You need to get as many links as you can for each of the 10 web pages. So basically, you have to work 10 times harder to getting links.

There’s one last strategy I’d like to talk about, and this time you are going to find 500 keywords that get 2 searches a day. That’s still 1,000 searches a day and about 30,000 searches a month. Create an optimized web page for each of your keywords. Last but not least, you’ll need to get a few links to your site.

This is a great strategy if you don’t like or want to work on getting links to your site. If you like to create content more than work on getting links to your site then this is the way to go. You really don’t have to worry about competition when you’re dealing with keywords that get two searches a day.

I tend to use the second strategy the most because it offers a balance between creating content and getting links to your site. Any of the strategies will work, but it’s up to you to decide where you want to put your efforts.

So, pick a number. Any number. Pick a strategy that suites you and start getting 30,000 visitors a month to your site.

Affiliate Marketing in a Nutshell

Posted on June 24, 2008

What exactly is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is the single fastest growth industry on the Internet. It’s also true that affiliate marketing is one of the fastest and most creative ways to make money and have a career on the Internet.

Simply put, affiliate marketing is selling products on a commission basis. You own a business that advertises and sells products for other companies. You may have a product of your own to begin with or not. The things that a successful affiliate marketer must have are:

1. Your website is the jumping off point of all your marketing efforts. So the first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. You must build a user-friendly website, which will attract your prospects and motivate them to click on the links to the products and services you are promoting and make a purchase. There are companies whose business is building websites that you can hire to build one for you.

2. You must find products to sell, you must be able to determine whether there is a demand for those products and if people will actually buy them. You may either have your own original product or products that are made by others. Which ever way you go, you must believe in the products.

3. It will be necessary for you to become an adept advertiser and be able to tell whether the advertising you are paying for is producing more income for you than the advertising is costing you.

4. It is necessary that you have good mathematical skills. You will need to be able to track your sales and determine profit, as well as, see to it that your suppliers are paid in full and on time.

5. You need the full and unwavering support of your family so that you can devote the time and energy necessary to launch your affiliate marketing business.

A Bit Of A Stressful Day

My Baby Meg

I have a dog, Megan. She is a German Shepherd and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. She is 12 now, nearly 13.

When I was looking for a dog (it had to be a German Shepherd), I visited loads of re-homing kennels. There were lots of German Shepherds that had to be re-homed because of problems. Most of them were vicious and a lot of them were quite old. I had to think of my 8 year old son and his safety. I am so soft when it comes to animals, especially dogs. Many of the other dogs I could have quite happily taken home. For instance, I nearly cried over a dog that had been brought into the kennels which had obviously just had puppies. Her teats were hanging and full of milk. She was just pacing up and down obviously distressed at losing her pups. The warden said that she was found wandering the streets late at night and the dog warden brought her in.

I decided that we would have a GS pup and looked for puppies in the papers. My son came with me to some kennels and we saw several puppies with their parents. Bradley, my son, decided on a pup. She was so cute. Just a bundle of fluff. I paid my money and we took her home. She wasn’t very good at travelling and made quite a mess on the back seat (and my son).

The next morning, I took her to the vet to have her checked over and she was perfectly fine. None of the hip troubles that German Shepherds are prone to.

At the time, I was working from home with my typesetting business and Megan slept under my desk snuggled around my feet. She was so good with the house-training, I don’t think we had an accident on the carpet. Right from the start she went to the back door to be let out to do her business in the garden. At 13 weeks she had her injections which meant she could be taken for a proper walk.

Since then, apart from holidays, she hasn’t left my side.

Last week, I took her to the vet. She had a mammary lump. It wasn’t causing her any discomfort but the vet told me it will probably get bigger and may burst. I booked her in for an operation today. I had to take her at 10 a.m. The nurse gave me some papers to sign and she took her away. Megan was fine at first until she realized I wasn’t going with her. She looked back and started whining and pulling on her lead to get to me. I had to leave quickly because I was as upset as she was.

All morning, I was worried. She is an old girl and I was warned that the anaesthetic could be dangerous for her.

At 12.45 I had a telephone call from the vets saying that she had undergone the surgery fine and she was just coming round and she would be fine to be collected at 15.00.

Not five minutes later, I was called again by the vets and was told that she was very distressed and could do herself more injury. I could hear her howling in the background. They had put her in a cage. She has never been locked up.

I rushed to the vets and I could hear her howling before I got to the door.

She was brought out to me and she was so happy to see me.

The vet said that he had removed two smaller lumps as well. She has to be kept quiet and only go on short walks. She also has to be given antibiotics, which isn’t a problem, because she takes pills readily if I give them to her. I bought a collar to stop her from pulling at her stitches, but it’s so cumbersome that she can’t move. I have decided that I will keep a close eye on her and she is to sleep by my bed.

I live by the beach and it is only 50 yards to the sea from my house. There are beach huts opposite.

Taking her for her last walk, about an hour ago, she can’t just walk, she has to trot everywhere. It is a strain trying to keep her to a slow walk.

Just as we came round the beach huts, a fox walked across the path, saw us and stopped. Megan strained at her leash trying to get at it. You would never have thought that she had major surgery less than twelve hours ago.

It’s going to be a problem with other dogs. Megan isn’t very sociable. She is fine if they keep their distance, but if they come close to me, she has a go at them.

Still, I’m glad today is over. I haven’t been this worried and stressed for years.

Dogs, haven’t you just got to love them?

Regards,

Gary

Steven Spielberg, Eat Your Heart Out. Producing Videos Is Fairly Easy

Posted on June 19, 2008
Filed Under My Actions | Leave a Comment

I’ve been working all day with Camtasia and Powerpoint to produce a new video. It’s my first attempt at making a video, although I have had the tools I need for many months.

Although I do believe I have taken on a large project and it will require many more sessions before the video is completed, I KNOW I WILL get there in the end. Understandably, I am a little bit nervous at speaking on the video, (it shows) but the nerves will go away, eventually, and I will be talking into the microphone as I talk to my friends. It just seems a little strange talking to a PC screen. I will soon be churning out videos with aplomb.

What I have achieved so far, I am very pleased with. It does look professional, it’s as though I have always been doing them. In a way, I suppose I have when I think about my design jobs in the past. But only to the point of presentation, my audio leaves a lot to be desired.

If anybody reading this entry has any tips on how I should present my audio, please leave me a comment and let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

Just for today, I have turned off my emails. It is surprising how much time reading emails takes. It is also surprising at how tempted I was to turn my emails back on and read them. No procrastinating here though. I realize that I need to stay focused if I am to achieve my goal.

Perhaps I will only read my general email accounts twice a week but keep my support emails open all the time. This should save me a couple of hours each day which I could spend doing constructive things. BUT!!!!! I will be missing out on all those time sensitive emails and may be missing out on some great deals………..

Don’t you just love it when your head is buzzing with ideas? I know I do. Hopefully, I will sleep well and be refreshed sufficiently for another day with my video. However, before I do go to bed, I shall have to write down a few ideas that have come to me while I have been writing this post. See what I mean?

Don’t forget, if you have any ideas on how to refine my audio, please leave a comment.

Until later, here’s to Your Success,

Gary Packer
